Add-on Fellowship for Interdisciplinary Life Science for Marco Wende
We congratulate Marco Wende on being awarded an Add-on Fellowship for Interdisciplinary Life Science by the Joachim Herz Foundation. The funding is aimed at doctoral students and postdocs who are working on interdisciplinary research questions at the interfaces between the life sciences and physics, computer science, mathematics, technology and related research fields.
With the help of the funding, Marco plans to focus his research on 3D printing miniaturized optics for particularly small and powerful endoscopes on biomedical applications. In addition to procuring components for experimental setups, it is particularly important to learn from experts in this field and to build networks for exchange and collaboration. Among other things, visits to international specialist conferences and research visits to biomedical working groups in Australia and the USA are planned.
