The overall goal of the project is the realization of magnetically actuatable 3D-printed micro-optics or micro-optical systems that have active functionality on the smallest scale and can be mounted directly on the facet of optical fibers. This should enable translational and rotational movements that will later allow the implementation of autofocus, zoom and panning systems. In view of the relevance for medical technology, the development is to focus in particular on the endoscopy sector (funded by the DFG).
